Time Management and Diabetes

It may not always feel like it, but we make choices about how we spend our time. Most of us spend our time on things that mean a lot to us such as family, work, friends, religion, and hobbies. One way to think about how you spend your time is to make a list of the top ten most key things in your life. Is diabetes on your list? Now make a new list of how you would like your life to be. Do you want caring for your diabetes to be higher on your to-do list?
If you want to spend less time on your diabetes, you can learn to work smarter. If you want your diabetes to be a larger part of your life, then ask what needs to be changed for you to spend the time and effort you want. Do you need to organize your life more or be more routine? Do you need to say no more often or give up some things that you do now? Do you need to ask for help from others? Is there one thing you can do this week that will help you to get started? Are you willing to change the way you do something this week to change the way you spend your time? Time does not have to be your enemy. Take a step this week to put time on your side.
